It is most likely that it was *your* connection that was broken, and the browser might not have picked that up, or you didn't notice it while you were waiting.
When waiting for very long time, you might simply refresh the page and make sure that everything is fine. Usually not needed and advised, but sitting 10 minutes waiting in that situation seems too much.
