May I ask, what exactly do people expect from a coach? What do you think you can't do yourself with the help of books, databases, engine?
I sometimes work as a coach myself, when people ask me for it, but I'm not really sure that everybody needs a coach to improve.

Since someone here never seems to waste an opportunity to troll, here's an explanation:
Of course, chess lessons cost money.
In regards to lichess, however, the coach feature is entirely free. Indeed, we do not take a commission on lessons or anything.
In fact, lichess does not handle any coach payment; it's left at the discretion of the student and teacher. We merely give (for free) a page for teachers to tell about themselves.

I've no experience of coaches. Besides of books, databases and engine I think you learn a lot from playing.
