Why do some players just give up?

I have a better question
For what reason white played Ng1 because I don't understand this move at all
My theory is after Nex4, white thought here is a ghost pawn on e4 attacking the knight on f3, so he had to defend it, while losing another knight
he just wanted loose rating I think against Lichess Rules( You can't just loose a games to play agaisnt weaker players after to gain ratings more easily
• boss coming

• see a threat that's not there

• sandbagging

• see lost evaluation bar on a second device

• simply don't care or bored by boring position or e.g. queens gone

• missile alarm

• girlfriend shows up

• bell rings

• milk is cooking over or meat in oven burning on 280ºC

• wife is coming down

• mushrooms were bad
@Chess_MaratS He might be irritated from losing past matches or maybe had to do something and couldn't continue to play however we should never give up in games even if our queens are gone, it might feel shameless to continue playing with 99% chances of losing hehe, but we don't know what could happen next right? What if the opponent blunders? We can still have the chance...
