Feature Request: 'Auto-rematch for correspondence games'

I'd love to toggle a button that will auto-rematch on a correspondence game for 2 reasons:

1) The notification and awareness for correspondence rematches seems very much broken. I often am told a rematch was sent but I never see it and cant select it, so I'm tasked with just sending my own rematch and hoping it works better on the other end. I suspect this is due to using multilpe devices and the backend gets confused as to where to send it? Often ill log in on web and ill see a 'rematch sent' from my opponent, but I can't accept it.

2) If both people have this set, then as any game ends, it could just autostart the next one - given timezones and sleep schedules, this will aid in potentially quickening the first move ... even if none of the rematch logic was broken.

um that sounds like a problem with your software or a lichess problem because in other time controls and variants, rematches work just fine for me.
there's also the error of both players having to play forever since lichess will keep starting a new game once one ends if they both have auto-rematch enabled.

Yes, the rematch issue is a known problem. I've proposed some code to fix it. You can watch to see if/when it gets accepted at the following link, if you want:

Its only a problem with correspondence games and yes it is a lichess problem.

WRT/ to 'play forever' - before a first move , anyone can choose to abort the game with no penalty, and furthermore, you dont have to select 'auto-rematch' if you dont want too.

I for one have (multilpe) correspondence games going with the same person all the time and one ends , auto-starting a replacement game would be super handy + given the rematch bugs (again on correspondence) it would remove that issue.

@user370417 Awesome patch - glad to see it. Fixing the rematch logic for correspondence games will be a great step towards caring alot less about this feature- but I'd still love to see it, perhaps its just me though ;)
