Guys, bullying isn't cool

"The girl you just called fat? She's overdosing on diet pills. The girl you just called ugly? She spends hours putting on makeup hoping that someone will like her. The boy you just tripped? He's abused enough at home. The boy you just made fun of for crying? His mother is dying."

Bullying is not cool. It doesn't make you cooler or better, it only momentarily vents out your insecurities. And the person on the receiving end of your bullying can get emotional trauma for the rest of their life just because a bully can't handle their insecurities the right way. You'd be surprised how many people on Lichess are bullied on a daily basis in their real lives. So, I'm not asking you guys to start a protest rally or anything, but the next time you see someone getting bullied on a forum thread, or anywhere else, do them a favor and stand up for them. It'll make you feel really good, it'll help put the bully in their place and the person you protected will thank you with all their heart. If you're scared, get a group of people, and stand up together- you're outnumbering the bully, and the majority is (almost) always stronger. And if you are being bullied, seek help. Although it may not seem like it, there is always someone to support you, whether it be someone on Lichess or your long-lost aunt. I know we can't really do anything about what happens in people's real lives, but we can all make an effort to improve things here, and support one another. Being a bystander is just as worse. You're literally watching someone get bullied, and not making any effort to do something about it. Be an upstander, not a bystander. You've heard that millions of times, but now it's time to actually apply it.
Remember, by standing up for someone, you may be impacting them in a huge way you can't even imagine.
So together, LET'S STOP BULLYING!!!
