B20 The Sicilian Bishop's opening. Your stats.

Bowlder attack is very popular among amateur chess players.

But you will not see it very often for otb chess players > 2200+
White gives up a tempo with the bishop, while black has lots of choice of systems after white's very early committal.
In the databases black usually scores very well.

This chess player Bowlder. He's done enough for this debut. Adolf Anderssen at least three parties won. But they are not the modern idea of a game with a Bishop on c4. I don't play only blitz this debut. I have it playing in advance. Players using the computer. Suffer losses when playing black. This is a very bright and challenging game. This debut underrated. This is my opinion. In Megabase white with the defeat of losing. Because I don't know how to play. The only reason such a terrible statistics in white. They depart from active play. Surrenders the center. The correct play white held the center and keep the Bishop on c2. You need not be afraid. And then get a big fight. Where white keeps attacking potential. I will continue to beat the Sicilians until they get tired. And if they play E5, then we play the king's gambit.

Well, I must say that my results with black against the Bowlder attack, through the years, could be better.

I am still not sure whether a quick d7d5 push is really the best, (Even though lots of people said so in forum posts, and so does Stockfish) as in several games I do not manage to get a better position, and even have to be careful not to get worse.

Psychologically the d7d5 push has a drawback for black, as the d5 pawn push is exactly what the white players want to see so that they can quickly play their first 20 moves.

I'm still figuring out the best system against the Bowlder.

The Sicilian bishops pisses me off. I never get a actual sicilian playing anons. EVERY SICILIAN IS A Bc4 Nc3. Its so boring and I can't practice learning it. Nobody at my chess club knows the first 4 correct moves of it ether except the strongest club player who plays anti sicilians all the time or plays c3 sicilians. but its BORING from black.

Good miniature did you. We have in Russia is the master Matsukevitch. He collects short party. I think it would get to him in the collection. If you don't play D5 then white will occupy the center and will gain the advantage. Soon will finish a book this debut. Lay out the John Bartalameo on the website, if he would allow. Of course on the side of the whites. My opinion. White delaying the game on their territory. The usual Sicilian difficult to play. You will put the Dragon or Najdorf. But then white's development. A sea of new options for the game.

The Sicilian black has to know a lot of theory. There are so many that it became little new games. White also needs to use different versions of the game. So interesting.
