When you win the game by moving the king into the centre in King of the Hill, if the sound is set to "Robot", it says "check". At least it does so on the analysis board for this game: lichess.org/li2YGOaF Perhaps this is related to the symbol '#' being used to mark the winning move. But while it sort of makes sense to reuse '#' for that purpose, it makes less sense to call a move to the centre "check".
