Chess website rankings

Can someone give me a link to a list of the top chess websites?
to: rise_uied...Thanks for the link... I had no ideal that there are so many chess playing sites...although I like lichess just fine...can you recommend some sites to check out ?
I wonder why echecsemail.com is not on the list ( may be it is too low ranked? or the developers of the site don't know about it? ). This is a small free correspondence site, simple but very familiar and likeable. It has more than 1000 active players ( and since corresponece is the only feature it offers and active players are really active, you can get a game quickly ).

If you are into correspondence I suggest that you check it out:

@Zugzwang69: There are only two other sites which I still HAVE to use other than lichess. All other features I had wished for were implemented here over time, like a reasonable Tactics trainer or broadcasted games of International events, which made me switch less between tabs.

Those two sites are: http://2700chess.com/, for keeping track of the ratings of the worlds super elite, and http://www.365chess.com/, the worlds most comprehensive free Opening database, which I use in nearly every Correspondence game.

I can also recommend Chesstempo, but I haven't been there in ages (I'm not the most diligent Chess player ...).
Does anyone know how the "Links" number on chess-links.org is calculated? Some numbers seem pretty implausible to me. And what does "PR" mean?
I take back the first question, the Link data is also derived from Alexa.

Hi:) Since you are looking for some good chess sites to play I thought i could recommend you a few. Some of the best sites in my opinion in which i play are lichess.org (obviously), chesscube.com , chess.com, chess24.com

Chess.com offers i believe the most things you can expect from a chess website. There are a lot of active players including lots of strong GMs and titled players who write articles or do broadcasts. The forum is active and there are specific domains for everything. The only downside i see is that you have to pay to have full access to the site (not the features that I mentioned) but still i think it can be more than enjoyable as a free member.

Chesscube is very fun especially if you like the cubit system they are running. On the other hand you can often find yourself with no cubits = you can't play games.

Chess24 is an raising site which became popular in the last few months. If you are willing to pay for a membership this is probably your best source for learning. There are lots of videos by GMs in the top 20 (GM Svilder) and many others. There are also banter blitz sessions where premium members get a chance of playing vs those GMs.

I 've also heard that icc is a good site but you have to pay. A good alternative is fics, which is a light version of icc. I haven't played there yet but you might want to give it a try.

I hope I helped you:) I 'd be glad to answer your questions about what I wrote. Any feedback is welcome:)
